Performance
● The off-axis parabolic mirror (OAP) is the first surface reflector whose reflecting surface is part of the original
parabolic mirror. Each reflecting surface has the ability of the original paraboloid to focus collimated beams or
collimated broadband point light sources without chromatic aberration. The off-axis design is able to separate
the focus from the optical path in space. The total reflection design eliminates the phase delay and absorption
loss introduced by the transmission of optical components.
● The bandwidth of a single reflector covers wavelengths in VIS and NIR regions.
● The angle between the focused beam and the collimated beam, called the “off-axis angle”, is 90°. In order to
achieve an ideal focusing effect, the propagation axis of the collimated beam should be perpendicular to the
substrate. The parabolic surface is processed by cutting and coated with a protective layer of aluminum film,
which can provide a mean reflectance of greater than 90% within the designed wavelength range.
